Templates

Templates allow you to place semi-transparent areas on the map and move them around if need be.  This is useful for spells or just marking rough terrain or areas of interest.  Both players and GMs can place templates, though player-created templates must be approved by the GM.  As a bonus, you can also place a template whenever prompted to select targets for a spell or effect, and any creatures caught in the template will be targeted!  Along with setting the size of your template you can also adjust the color and opacity of the template.  You can place the following types of templates: burst, line, cone, square and box (rectangle).

Creating Templates

  1. Set the desired size of the template you want to use.
  2. Select your color by clicking on the Color field near the bottom. The drop-down menu to the right of the color block allows you to set the opacity of the template.
  3. When you are satisfied with your template settings you can place it anywhere on the map by simply clicking in the desired location.
If you have one or more templates already on a map you will see them listed underneath the color block with the most recent template placed being at the bottom of the list.  You can remove a template from the map by clicking the red button to the right of the appropriate template in the list of existing templates.
